Delete your account

How to request deletion

Riff is developed by Magd Kamal. To delete your Riff account and the data associated with it:

1. Email magddevf@gmail.com from the email address registered to your Riff account.
2. Use the subject line Delete my Riff account.
3. Include your Riff username so we can identify the account.

We confirm the request from your registered email address, then delete the account. Requests are actioned within 30 days of confirmation, and we email you when it is done.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

• Your profile — name, username, email address, phone number, bio, profile picture, instruments and genres.
• Your content — posts, reels, comments, reactions, and uploaded photos, videos and audio.
• Your messages — direct and group chat messages you have sent.
• Your connections — followers, people you follow, and follow requests.
• Your linked Spotify authorisation and your push notification token.

What is kept, and for how long

We keep a minimal record of the deletion request itself (the request date and the account identifier) for up to 12 months, so that we can demonstrate the request was honoured. This record contains no profile content.

Where we are required to retain information to comply with a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute, we keep only what the law requires, for only as long as it requires.

Backups are rotated on a 30-day cycle, so residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days of deletion.
